When it comes to family matters, raising a family is the biggest project you will ever have. So, this website will focus on the “building up people” part.

Most of us have a few spots that need a "family" home makeover, perhaps for some, an "extreme home makeover!"

Since I’ve acquired my own list of blunders, I’m going to share some of life’s lessons that I have learned, with you. Even if you have already done some things miserably wrong, rarely is it too late to learn something new and try, try again.

When my husband and I married in 1982, he had three children and I had three children; then we were pleasantly surprised with one of our own. We were also blessed to raise our grandson for a couple of years.

As you can see, we had a house full of people! (We're missing our oldest daughter in this picture.)

Perhaps like yours, my family has its share of challenges. There are so many things that tug at our families today and distract us from the really important family matters, such as:

• Parenting Skills –This is critical, because the teaching and training of children requires more perseverance and hard work than any other challenge you might have in life.
  

• Teaching Values – We need a greater emphasis on honesty, character, and integrity.

• Frugal Living – We have become a wasteful society. We need to teach our families frugality.

• Living Deft Free – Getting out of debt is easier than you think when using effective debt reduction strategies.

• Living a Healthy Lifestyle – Which contributes to physical and emotional well being.

No family is perfect, but there are many that are very good.

Stephen R. Covey says in his book, The 7 Habits of Highly Effective Families, “Good families—even great families—are off track 90 percent of the time!"

In spite of any heart aches or disappointments my husband and I have experienced with our children, we have some terrific kids.

As life goes, our family continues to experience the bumps and missteps in the road of life. But each family member continues to work hard with their own family matters.

We all make mistakes! I want to give hope to those who feel they've made a lot of mistakes and really blown it.

Whatever your situation, it is very important that you do not compare your family to any other. Many people think that other families are just about perfect while theirs is falling apart, but every one has its successes and its own list of blunders.
